Every engine on Good Kulture can be acquired three ways, and the price gap between them is really a gap in how much control you need over the category, not just a bigger invoice.
License — the fast lane
This is a one-time fee that unlocks the repo, the admin console, and the deploy path. You rebrand it, you launch it, it’s yours to run. The catch: we can license the same engine to someone else too, potentially in a different market or even the same one.
License is the right call when:
- You want to be live this week, not this quarter
- Your edge is execution and audience, not exclusivity of the mechanic
- You’re testing whether the category works for you before committing more capital
It’s the lowest-risk entry point on the site, and it’s how most buyers start.
Exclusive — you lock the market, we keep the source
Exclusive means we stop selling this engine to anyone else, full stop. You don’t receive the source code as a transferable asset the way Full IP buyers do — but no competitor can walk in tomorrow and buy the same system out from under you.
Exclusive is the right call when:
- You’ve already validated the model (maybe via a License first) and now want to defend the category
- Competitive pressure matters more to you than owning the literal code
- You want the seller relationship to continue — updates, support, roadmap — rather than going fully independent
There’s no fixed sticker price on Exclusive. You submit an offer, we review or counter, and it accounts for how proven the engine already is and how much market it covers.
Full IP — you own it like you built it
This is the highest tier: the source code legally transfers to you, and we retire the engine on our side permanently. From that point forward it behaves exactly like something you built in-house — you can extend it, resell it, white-label it into other products, and take it in any direction with zero interference.
Full IP is the right call when:
- The engine is core to a long-term vision you’re building a company around, not a side project
- You want total control over the roadmap, including features we’d never build for the broader engine
- You have the capital to treat this as a real acquisition, not an experiment
A framework, not a rulebook
Think of it as a ladder of how much market control you need against how much capital you’re willing to commit right now:
| Tier | You get | Price | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| License | Rebrand & launch | One-time, published price | Fast validation, low risk |
| Exclusive | Sole rights, we hold source | Custom offer | Defending a proven category |
| Full IP | Source transfers, engine retired | Custom offer, highest | Long-term, capital-backed vision |
Most buyers don’t start at the top of the ladder — they start with a License, prove the model works with real customers, and then come back for Exclusive or Full IP once the numbers justify it. That sequencing is usually smarter than guessing your way to the top tier on day one. See a specific engine’s ventures page for tier availability and pricing.
